The Annual Parish Meeting originally planned for Thursday 19th March is postponed in light of the current situation with COVID-19. A provisional date was proposed for May, this has now been pushed back. While the law now allows for regular Parish Council meetings to be conducted by publicly open video conference, this does not apply to the Annual Parish Meeting.
Annual Parish Meetings are a chance for Parishioners to discuss matters of local importance. Although arranged by the Parish Council and chaired by the Chairman of NHPC, it is not a Parish Council meeting and operates under a different set of procedures.
These meetings usually involve updates on key activities in the community – for example in 2019 we had updates from Mace on the West Way development and on the proposed Expressway. We usually have the Community Police team attend to answer questions.
We did discuss ways we might be able to answer questions with an informal online meeting if that is helpful before we can hold the meeting. Please email any councillor if you have suggestions.
